Château Calvimont Graves white 2018 – 10 years Edition
10 years old…
To celebrate their 10 years at the helm of Château de Cérons, Xavier and Caroline Perromat have tailored new labels to the bottles of Château Calvimont.
A beautiful way to pay homage to the Marquis de Calvimont who made the property shine in the 18th century.
These bottles are an ode to the quality of the terroir of Cérons and Graves, to the diversity of the plants and to the beauty of the Gironde nature that has surrounded Xavier and Caroline since their childhood and to the finesse of the wines they make.
Immortelles and arbutus trees from the Arcachon basin, the big maple tree from the park of the Château de Cérons, present these creations in all their splendour.
2018 : «vintage was a real test of patience. The first 6 months of the year were dominated by incessant rainfall and mild temperatures. The weather then changed radically on the 15th of July, marking the start of a hot summer with periods of drought.
The harvest period stretched from late August to late October, with the grapes reaching excellent levels of maturity. This exceptionally long and rain-free harvest period allowed us to fine-tune our picking operations. In the cellar the juices proved to be very consistent, with a beautiful colour.
This was an unusual year with extreme conditions, but in the end, it turned out to be an excellent vintage»
2016 : «will remain in our memories for the exceptional conditions that gave birth to it: deluge in winter, drought in summer, superb after-season. These extreme and unprecedented conditions made us lose our bearings, never seen in the memory of a winegrower.
The harvest was exceptionally long, it started at the beginning of September for the whites, at the end of October and even at the beginning of November for the reds and the Cérons.
The wines are magnificent, the reds are full of color and fruit, the whites are racy and have a great aromatic palette, the sweet wines are marked by exceptional floral notes.»
