In the family for many years, the vineyard was enlarged by Jean Medeville in 1826 when he acquired a large plot of Mayne d'Anice located on the Haut Cérons plateau. His grand son Raoul Binet, the great uncle of Jean Perromat acquired for it a certain reputation between 1890 and 1945, both in France and in Belgium.
The Mayne vineyards
are located on a terrace dominating the Garonne River on the Cérons'
plateau.
The soil is composed of silicious gravel, with ponctual areas of larger stones.
