A blissful place, 35 km from Bordeaux, Cérons got its name from the Ciron river which separates the gravelly hilltops of Sauternes, Bommes and Preignac from the plateau of Barsac and Cérons. This generates a microclimate which produces the miracle of the golden wines of Sauternes. After the morning mists come warm afternoons, conditions that favour the growth on the grape of Botrytis Cinerea , the famous "noble rot".
